Man rapes 21-year-old woman after death threats

 


An Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday ordered the remand of one Olakunle Owoeye, 32, in prison over alleged rape of a 21-year-old lady.
The Magistrate, Modupe Afeniforo, ordered the remand of the accused pending an advice from the office of Director of Pubic Prosecution (DPP) and adjourned the case till Jan.23 for mention.
The prosecutor, Insp. Bayo Ajiboye had told the court that the case file had been forwarded to the DPP for advice.

The prosecutor told the court that the accused committed the offence on Nov.29.

He alleged that the accused volunteered to accommodate the complainant who was stranded.
“The accused at midnight threatened to kill the complainant if she denied him sex.
“He threatened to throw her body into the bush since nobody knew she was there.

“He forcefully had sex with the lady without her consent,’’ he said.
The offence contravened Section 358 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2012.
The plea of the accused was not taken. (NAN)
