DAILY DEVOTION: Hidden Manna For Today "Wednesday December 7th 2016"

DATE: Wednesday December 7th 2016.

TOPIC:                   where are the "Moses?"

MORNING: Exodus 32:1-14.

It takes a higher level of integrity to be able to stand out in the midst of a corrupt world like our. Why is it that incorrigibility has given in to corruption even at places least expected? From our text, we saw the misdeeds of the people of God- a stack defiance of the ordinance of the law that upholds Jehovah as the only deity that is worthy of worship. The role played by Aaron the priest was a very disappointing one. He collaborated with God's people to raise a golden calf that was worshiped. This is gross condescendency and a gross misuse of influence! There are people like this who encourage their congregations into lewdness and say, "It does not matter!" They should know that they would be held accountable for their action/inactions. Thank God for people like Moses whom God banked on to salvage the situation. Moses interceded on behalf of the people and God changed His mind concerning the evil He was about bringing upon the land. Verse 14 says, "And the repented of the evil which He was about to do unto His people." God is looking for the "Moses" of our time to act as the catalyst of the needed change in our church and society. Where are the Moses that are bearing the gospel with utmost sincerity and integrity? Until we learn to put on the heart of humility in genuine service to God and humanity, the church may lack the "locus standi" from which it can operate. Think about this!

Prayer points:  start with praise/worship.
  1. Thank God for another new day and for  His word.
  2. Pray that you will not see any reason to trade away your integrity.
  3. Pray against the spirit of error and falsehood that are fighting against the church.
  4. Pray that the church be delivered from the influence of the golden calf.
  5. Pray that God will help you to be able be to play your role as a "watchman" over God heritage.

Evening: Ezekiel 33:1-9

There are people God has set as overseers over His work (house). They must do their best to fulfill the purpose of their election rather than fulfilling the purpose of their appointment. They must keep the watch over God's people. Verse 7 says, "So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them for me." How many people still hear from God? Have we not allowed lust and fleshly desire to dictate our messages? We have missed the mark if we fail to hear from God and warn the people about sinful lifestyles. Think about it! Good night.
