DAILY DEVOTION: Hidden Manna For Today "Tuesday December 6th 2016"

TOPIC:                   The "Enemy Mentality."                                                                        

MORNING: Matthew 5:38-45.

Your  mentality determines your attitude; it has an overridding effect the way you think, speak an act. Mentality is a mode or way of thinking about something, an attitude of the mind. Most africans have a very poor mentality of their (perceived) enemies probably because of their polygamous mindset and/or superstitious reading of situations as being caused by one's stepmother or neighbour; and makes it easier to blame someone else for one's misfortunes. This is most probably the bone behind the need to pray for death of our enemies as the case in some churches today. But is this in line with the scripures? Verse 44 says, "But I say unto you love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you." This is a step towards becoming a true child of God (Verse 45). And as a true child of God, it means your heavenly Father will take good care of you, and you will no longer be conscious of the existence of your enemies. If God could provide for David in the presence of his enemies, why do you think He will have kill yours first before blessing you? Beloved, it pays to stop dissipating your energy on unscriptural prayer points. Your real enemy is  satan the devil. Ask God for grace to be able to subdue him and put him under check perpetually. Prayer points: start with praise/worship.

1. Thank God for another new day and for His word.
2. Pray against all the forces that may want you to have a negative attitude to life .
3. Pray that your heart will always be under the influence and control of the spirit of God.
4. Believe God for the grace to love the more.
5. Pray that God will cause every enemy that is working towards your downfall will begin to work towards your promotion in life.

 Evening: Proverbs 16:1-7.

Verse 7 of our text says, "when a man's way please Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him." God's word is true. You just continue to live your life pleasing Him. He will make even your worst enemies to be at peace with you. Some of them may not stop being your enemies, but they won't be able to hurt you. Therefore, stop majoring on enemies, major on pleasing God; and have a change of attitude, and some former enemies will appear to change because you may have been your own enemy disturbing yourself with your prayers.
