DAILY DEVOTION: Hidden Manna For Today "Saturday December 10th 2016"

TOPIC:                   Building The Future.                                                                        

MORNING: 1 Kings 3:17-27.

Nobody can build a future he/she cannot see, plan for or envisage. The future belongs to our children; and it takes great sense of responsibility, commitment and devotion for one to build the future. From our text, we saw some of the things that contributed to Timothy's success in ministry. See what Paul said about him in verse 5, "When I called to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also." As a young man, Timothy had inherited an unwavering and sincere faith that had been handed down to him through his mother and grandmother. Timothy  was the third generation of spiritual heritage. Therefore, through her faithfulness, Lois passed through her daughter, Eunice a spiritual heritage that affected thousands of people through her evangelist grandson, Timothy. Can you imagine what the world would look like if every parent and grandparent can act like Lois and Eunice? The future will be bleak for us if we have ungodly people in positions of authority as the case in Nigeria  . It takes a godly parent to raise godly children that would be entrusted with leadership positions. The war against corruption will continue to be a lost war until every child in the land is affected by the Gospel. Our children are our future; the earlier we begin to show them the ways of the Lord the better for us all. God bless you!

Prayer points: Start with praise/worship.

1. Thank God for another new day and for His word.
2. Pray against the activities of dream killers that are working against your dreams.
3. Pray against all the forces that are out to make you lose faith in God.
4. Pray that God will help you to leave a good legacy even for unborn generations
5.  Pray that God will give you the grace to be able to bring up your children/grandchildren in the knowledge and fear of God.

Evening: Psalms 22:29-32.
Verse 31 of our text says, "They shall come and shall declare His righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this." We must let our children know about the righteousness of Christ. We must let them know about the righteousness of Christ. We must let them know the works of redemption by Christ is the Lord's own doing and no contrivance of ours. We  must declare to our children the love of God. The best way to secure the future is to teach our children God's ways, encourage them to study the Bible and obey God's word. This is one way of building the future. Good night!
